More Da Vinci Code Reviews

The last time we checked in with the Da Vnici Code reviews, there were about 10 reviews up (we looked really early) and it had a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Well… today is opening day, and now there are about 100 reviews up… and it’s still not a pretty sight. Here are what some more critics are saying about The Da Vinci Code:

it’s a thriller with a lot of explaining to do, which it does, endlessly, while we wait for an actual movie to break out.”
Bruce Newman, SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS

“How can a film contain so many clues yet remain utterly clueless?”
Michael Phillips, CHICAGO TRIBUNE

“There’s no code to decipher. Da Vinci is a dud — a dreary, droning, dull-witted adaptation of Dan Brown’s religioso detective story …”
Peter Travers, ROLLING STONE

“Ron Howard’s adaptation of Dan Brown’s bestseller is punishingly long, dramatically overwrought and fatally short on the thrills we demand from summertime blockbusters.”
Colin Covert, MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE

As of right now the Da Vinci Code has a weak 19% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I don’t expect it to get much higher now that most of the reviews have come in.
