New Red Sonja Movie

Red-Sonja movieHey kids. Remember way back in the day when Arnold was in the OTHER Barbarian film with Brigitte Nielson in the lead role called “Red Sonja”? Yeah, it isn’t really worth remembering. But it was a barbarian movie… and that’s good enough.

Anyway, it’s now being reported that a remake has been given the green light. The good folks over at Cinescape give us the following:

One of the bestselling indie comic books available is coming to the silver screen. Red Sonja, a sword-and-sorcery comic book from Dynamite Entertainment, has been green lit with a production budget north of $25 million.

Could this be a sign of the resurgence of the barbarian movie genre? We can only hope. As long as there are swords and skimpy female barbarian outfits… I’ll probably be there.
