America: Freedom to Fascism

America-Freedom-FascismSometimes we see something that is just so scary, that we, in order to protect our own minds from that fear, instantly just write it off as pure fantasy or as a product of a paranoid conspiracy theorist. And often, that is indeed the case. Maybe that’s what is behind this documentary America: Freedom to Fascism. Nothing more than some wacky ficticious extreme film. Or… maybe what I saw in its trailer scared the hell out of me and I’m trying to convince myself that it was all just fiction.

Here’s a quick synopsis of America: Freedom to Fascism:

Determined to find the law that requires American citizens to pay income tax, producer Aaron Russo (“The Rose,” “Trading Places”) set out on a journey to find the evidence. Neither left, nor right-wing this startling examination of government exposes the systematic erosion of civil liberties in America since 1913.

Digital implants put into every citizen?!?! Having to carry papers!?!?! National checkpoints?!?! Sounds like stuff out of a George Orwell novel than real life. But in reality, this is all stuff that is already showing on Fox and CNN.

Todd David Schwartz of CBS said this about the film:

“The scariest goddamn film you’ll see this year. It will leave you staggering out of the theater, slack-jawed and trembling”
