Bringing Brando To Life As Jor-El

Brando-Jor-ElRhythm & Hues is one of the smaller “BIG” visual effects companies. You don’t often hear their names… but trust me, these guys have their finger prints on some of the very best visual effects movies in the last 15 years. Having worked in a VFX house for a few years, we would often marvel at some of the stuff these guys would do.

Well, for the new Superman Returns, it was up to the good folks at R&H to bring Marlon Brando back to vivid life as Jor-El, Superman’s real father.

Because so many movies these days have so many effects shoots, I think most people who don’t work in the industry fail to realize just how much technical and artistic work goes into these shots. The guys over at AICN have posted a short video showing the process R&H went through to give us Jor-El on the big screen once again. Man, watching this really makes me miss working in the feild!
