To follow up Friday’s post about the new HD standards, thesecretsafe sent me this link to a list of the first wave of Blu-Ray Disks that will be launched in the coming months (Many of them on June 20th). THere are 112 flicks on the list. Some of them good… some not so good. Some of the interesting looking ones are:
Armageddon (Come one! This will look fantastic)
Bridge on the River Kwai (one of my all time favs)
Fifth Element (Excellent Choice)
Goodfellas
House of Flying Daggers
Then there are some films that make me wonder “WTF?!?!?!” Why on earth release THESE next flicks when there are thousands of GOOD films to choose from?:
xXx: State of the Union (It’s a poor state)
Stealth
Rumor Has It (Yes, a bombed Jennifer ANiston Rom Com is perfect for Hi Def release… holy crap who thinks of this?)
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (My company worked on this flick and even I knew it sucked)
Dukes of Hazzard (You’ve GOT to be kidding me)
Benchwarmers (Oh good grief)
Many of the films on the list don’t actually have release dates yet, but are announced as coming.
Yup… still don’t see any reason why I should get one of these.
