Some people make me laugh. Ok here’s what’s going on. Just a few days ago Michael Clarke Duncan (still an underrated actor in my opinion and is missused in the parts he gets) did an interview confirming that he is NOT going to be in the Transformers film. Ok, fair enough.
Duncan talks about his conversations with Michael Bay (the director of the film) and how badly he wanted to be in the film, but that he and Bay couldn’t get on the same page for it to word out. Here is a part of the quote from that interview via:
“You know what and I hate to tell you this, but I am not in “Transformers”. I am so mad that I have to tell you that, but something happened and we didn’t get the deal done and I was really hurt about that, because my friend Michael Bay is directing and he’s like to me, one of the top action directors ever. I love working on his movies.
Ok, so he and Bay are friends, he loves working on Bay’s movies but they just couldn’t get the details worked out. No problem right?
Well some bonehead who apparently can’t read then puts up a post (the site shall not be named), about that EXACT SAME INTERVIEW. Only after reading the interview, they post that “MICHAEL CLARKE DUNCAN REFUSES TO APPEAR IN TRANSFORMERS DUE TO LACK OF FAITH IN BAY’S DIRECTING ABILITY“. WTF!?!?! Let me check… yup they’re talking about the same interview, but I have no idea how he read what I read and came to that conclusion at all.
The problem is then the viral nature of the web. Someone else read’s that guys post, thinks it’s fact and then posts about it too… and so on and so on. Pretty soon it’s almost just accepted as “fact”. Ultimately someone then posts comments about it in my own comments section about how even Duncan doesn’t have faith in Bay. Again I say unto you: “WTF?!?!?!”
So bottom line:
According to Duncan himself, the reason he is not in Transformers is just because he and Bay couldn’t get it worked out. No big deal. They are friends, Duncan loves working on Bay’s films, end of story.
