Yesterday we reported that a panel at Comic-Con had announced that Peter Cullen, the original voice of Optimus Prime in the Transformers cartoon was being "seriously considered" for reprising his role as the voice of the Autobot leader.
Well, later yesterday it became official. Several sources from Comic-Con are reporting that during another panel discussion, Peter Cullen came on the phone and announced it was done… he is indeed Optimus Prime once again.
Our friends over at MovieWeb give us this:
Suddenly, Bonaventura’s cellphone rang it was the voice of Optimus Prime being done by it’s original creator, Peter Cullen. He informed us that he was returning for this new incarnation of the film.
So in the words of Vader "This will be a day long remembered" for Transformers fans. Their leader is back.
So what do you think? Is this a great news? Bad news? Your thoughts.
