Zak Penn wrote X-Men 3: The Last Stand and X2: Xmen United. He also did some writing for Electra and Fantastic Four. Think this guy likes to work with Marvel Comics Movies? Oh yeah, he is also writing the redux of The Incredible Hulk. Now wether you liked those films or not, this guy has put in his time with Marvel and he isnt done yet. So you better get used to him.
Empire Movie News gives us this:
Screenwriter Zak Penn, who’s becoming something of a Marvel company favourite (especially after X-Men: The Last Stand grossed so much money despite lukewarm reviews), has been hired to write the big screen version of The Avengers
The Avengers is a project that I would have high hopes for, but I am hesitant because of one thing. Other Marvel films.
Not to say that I am not excited about other Marvel films. I am. But where does that leave the Avengers? This is a group who’s core members are The Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hercules, Antman, and Hawkeye. Even Spiderman is an Associate Member of the Avengers.
There are feature films planned/rumoured for nearly every one of those Avengers. The article already suggests that they wont be in the Avengers film.
So who will make up the roster of the Avengers in the movie? How can they truely call the Avengers “Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” when all the heavy hitters look to be written out of the script and the B-Squad called to duty?
