George Clooney In Pet Sematary?

Pet-SemataryIt appears that George Clooney is in talks to appear in a Pet Sematary remake. The good folks over at Cinescape give us this:

George Clooney is in talks to play a role in the upcoming remake of Stephen King’s PET SEMATARY for Paramount Pictures.

The site did not know how big of a role Clooney would play in the film, but did say that they could 100% confirm the news as true. Back in 2004, Clooney had been rumored to play Doc Cage in the film.

Ok look, I’ve said before on a number of occacions that I don’t mind the idea of remakes at all. I can actually kind of like them. BUT… Pet Sematary was only 17 years ago!!! 1989 is hardly long enough ago to warrant a remake. Not yet. Hell.. you can still rent this thing on DVD.. and I’m sure a few rental places in Ohio still have in in their “New Releases” section too.

I love Clooney as an artist… and I like the Pet Sematary story… but “too soon” my friends. Far too soon for a project like this. What do you think?
