Jude Law as General Zod

I put up a post a while ago that said:

1) I would love to see another Superman Movie

2) I’d love to see the bad guy as either Doomsday, or General Zod so that we can all kneel before him.

Pia sent me the heads up on this little tid bit that has me rather excited. The good folks over at Star Plus give us thie following:

Jude Law could be Superman’s arch enemy. The Alfie actor is in talks to appear as the Man of Steel’s most hated foe General Zod in the Superman Returns sequel. The role of General Zod was made famous by Terence Stamp, who played the character in 1980 movie Superman 2 – and producers see a resemblance between Stamp and Law.

A source told Daily Express newspaper: “Zod is going to be the main bad guy in the second film. Some say they should use an unknown but the director Bryan Singer is looking at Jude. The similarities between him and Stamp are clear.”

There seems to be a bunch or sources reporting this right now, and the whispers of a Jude Law General Zod have been floating around for a while. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. A Superman Returns sequel hasn’t been 100% confirmed at this point (but make no mistake, there will be one), and these could all just be whispers… but I like what I’m hearing.

So sure, I love the idea of Law as Zod. Hell… I’m ready to kneel before him now… you know… in a totally hetrosexual way.
