A film project that has had my attention for a little while called “The Kingdom“, with Jennifer Garner, Jason Batemen and Jamie Foxx has been filming in Arizona and has suffered a horrible tragedy.
According to reports, Assistant propmaster, Nick Papac, was driving a cart which collided with vehicle in which ironically the film’s director, Peter Berg was a passenger. Papac was thrown from his cart and died as a result of his injuries.
I know most of you have never been on an actual movie set… trust me… it’s an insane environment… and that’s part of what makes it so much fun. But there is a LOT of movement, a lot of heavy equipment and a lot of chaos. I’m always surprised more accidents don’t happen around them.
Shooting of The Kingdom was suspended obviously, but no doubt will resume within a day or 2. It’s stuff like this that reminds us that movies are fun, and great to get enthusiastic about and debate over and get passionate about… but in the end they’re just movies.
The most heartfelt wishes of us at The Movie Blog go out the family of Papac and his community circle.
