GhostHouse pictures looks like a great little production company focused on making good horror. Let’s hope they do. Already on their plate is a sequel to a remake. As if that isnt already riddled with potential direct to dvd craziness.
The movie I speak of is The Grudge. I thought it was creepy, but not the best horror film by any means. The original however is described by Movie Blog Alumnist Dave Lapsley as: Take your hand. Cover it with glass shards. Now cram it up your butt. Grab a hold of your stomach. Squeeze until everything’s shredded to bits. Now, while you’re doing that, have a truck drive through your face. You’re now watching “The Grudge” a movie made to freak you so intensely, you’ll voluntarily crap your pants just to ease the tension.
So GhostHouse is in good hands so who knows, maybe they will pull out a winner yet.
With a keen desire to continue bringing scares and thrills to moviegoers worldwide, Ghost House Pictures was formed in May 2002 by filmmakers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert as the vehicle to return to their horror roots.
Raimi also intends to remake Evil Dead, and they even got the rights to make the video game Siren to film. I guess Uwe Boll cant have them all.
One of the cool features of their website is the videodiaries. Click here to see the video diary entry for 30 Days of Night to star Josh Hartnett
Here is hoping we get to see some groundbreaking horror.
