I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer

The title sounds like it should be the subtitle for Scary Movie 5, and that might not be far from accurate.

I Spit on Your Movie has the premise:

“A cricket team are dismissed by a moustachioed serial killer with a razor sharp cricket glove and an arsenal of sharpened stumps.

One by one the killer exacts revenge for the torment he endured 20 years earlier.”

The forthcoming Australian cricket slasher feature film, “I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer” takes the horror comedy genre to new depths of depravity.

Though not directly related to the spoofy genre dominated by the Scary Movie films, this appears to be a similar take on the idea.

I can honestly say the first Scary Movie did make me laugh. A great deal in fact. The second one got a handful of chuckles out of me, but the third, barely a smile. This genre is far too predictable. The jokes are expected, and the only thing that keeps you guessing is wondering how far they are going to go with the potty humour.

Well with this Australian team taking on the idea, maybe they will do somthing different, though with a claim of taking “the horror comedy genre to new depths of depravity” I don’t have a lot of hope that it will be different.

The Comedy/Horror thing needs to be its own genre. Sean of the Dead is the best example that you dont have to fart on someone to make horror funny.

I recieved a contact from someone associated with this film who linked me to their MySpace page which inevitably lead me to their official website which has a trailer! Click HERE to see the trailer.

It appears that this is not even a comedy at all, and makes me wonder why they used this spoof title!
