Motley Crue Movie Gets Borat Director

Motley-Crue-MovieThis movie is instantly #1 on Doug’s “to see” list I can guarantee you. A movie on the career of the rock legend band “Montley Crue entitled “The Dirt” (based on the book “The Dirt: Confessions of the World’s Most Notorious Rock Band”) is already in pre-production and has tapped Borat director Larry Charles to helm the project. This one should be interesting if nothing else.

I was never into the Motley Crue thing. To me, they always looked like a pack of 5th graders could kick the shit out of them and their music sound like audio gloss to me. But whatever… they had a HUGE following and a fanatical fan base (which is way more than I can say for me) and their influence and place in Rock and Roll history is firmly secured.

The good folks over at Movieweb give us this:

They have dedicated an entire career to living life to its extreme, from the greatest fantasies to the darkest tragedies. Tommy married two international sex symbols; Vince killed a man and lost a daughter to cancer; Nikki overdosed, rose from the dead, and then OD’d again the next day

See… now to me this sounds like the title of the film should be “Motley Crue: The lives of Some REALLY Stupid People”. I should be careful… Doug is going to want to challenge me to a UFC fight.

All kidding aside, if this film really shows these guys as who they are… the bad (without trying to glamorize it) with the good… then it actually looks like it could be something pretty interesting to watch. Sign me up… I’ll be there.
