Just the other day we announced the brilliant piece of casting of Robert Downey Jr. snagging the lead role in the upcoming Iron Man movie. It was a move that totally caught most of us by surprise, but one that most people generally seem to think was a great one. Now it looks like the love interest for the film has been cast… and it’s another person I never would have thought of… Famke Janssen. CanMag gives us these rumors:
Janssen Tony Stark’s Love Interest in Iron Man? We received two emails on Friday suggesting that Tony Stark’s love interest has also been found. Who could it be? Famke Janssen? She isn’t burned out on comic book films yet?
Now, I like CanMag, but more than one of their “sources” have been proven to be wrong before… still, when you think about it… this casting would make sense for a couple of reasons.
1) She is obviously a familiar face for Marvel comic book movie fans having just played Jean in the X-Men films
2) She’s worked a lot with director Jon Favreau before
3) She’s hot
4) She’s hot
5) I forget this point… but it had something to do with her being hot.
But a good question is raised… why would she want to jump back into another comic book franchise? Mark me down as being 50/50 on if this rumor is true or not. Would it work? Yes, I think Famke Janssen in Iron Man would work just fine. Is it TRUE??? That’s another issue all together, but I don’t expect us to have to wait long to find out the answers.
