Nicole Kidman on the set of The Golden Compass

There were some movie set pics set out on the internet of Nicole Kidman on the set of The Golden Compass. The pictures are not all that flattering, but its clear that she was unaware they were being taken.

Coming Soon describes the movie as:

Based on the bestselling Philip Pullman novels, the “His Dark Materials” trilogy is comprised of “The Golden Compass,” “The Subtle Knife” and “The Amber Spyglass”. It revolves around a young girl who travels to the far north to save her best friend. Along the way she encounters shape-shifting creatures, witches, and a variety of otherworldly characters in parallel universes.

I have always been a fan of Kidman. Aside from the fact that she is outstandingly attractive, she always seems to capture something different about each character she plays.

The main character Lyra Belacqua is to be played by a 12 year old newcomer Dakota Blue Richards who beat out ten thousand other applicants for the role.
