Sin City 2 In Trouble?

Any of you who have been following the development of Sin City 2 already knows there have been some “bumps”. Casting controversy, shooting delays and other things of the like. Nothing that really made us think the project was in jeopardy… but that may be the case. The good guys over at Cinema Blend give us the following:

First, there’s the problems of Angelina Jolie’s belly to consider. The tabloids have been circling her stomach like vultures, apparently there’s a nasty rumor going around that she’s pregnant with Pitt-spawn number two. Why does that matter? Sin City co-director has long been hot to cast her in the role of Ava Lord, the star of the second film A Dame to Kill For. In fact, some believe that’s a big part of what’s delayed the production so far. That Robert was simply waiting for her to get the baby thing out of the way and be his Dame. If she’s having a second kid, there’s no way that will happen now.

Second, several sources claim there are problems between Miller and Rodriguez. They co-directed the first movie, and the result was brilliant. But now they’re supposedly muddled in unending disagreements and the wild rumor is that Rodriguez wants out.

Ok, now before I dive into this, let’s all take a step back and keep in mind that none of this has been totally confirmed yet. Got that? Not confirmed… ok… let’s move on.

If this is indeed true (and it seems like 1 + 1 does indeed add up to two here), then who is to blame? Was getting Jolie with all her stupid drama going on a massive error in judgement (although I’d cast her in a minute)? Is Miller getting a big head? Is Rodriguez being too sensative and possessive of the film? I’ll be REALLY interested to see how this story unfolds.

Damn… I really hope this isn’t true. I LOVED Sin City, and have been looking forward to the second one for some time now. Let’s hope fragile egos and casting missteps don’t ruin things.
