Charlotte’s Web Reviews

Charlottes-Web-ReviewsThe early Charlotte’s Web reviews are coming in, and man they look better than I was expecting. The old animated Charlotte’s Web holds a very special place in my heart. As a kid, I just loved it… and watching it again a few years ago on TV the film lost none of it’s potency with me. It’s a true classic that I feared being remade. However, it is an amazing tale, and perhaps one that should be updated for a new audience.

Here is what some of the critics are saying in their Charlotte’s Web reviews:

It’s a movie that might just inspire E.B. White, up in literary heaven, to wipe away a tear of gratitude.
– Owen GleibermanEntertainment Weekly

A beautifully rendered motion picture that’s full of warmth, wit and wonder.
– Michael Rechtshaffen Hollywood Reporter

It’s cute, funny and the animals are gorgeous, but I can’t help wishing that the filmmakers of Charlotte’s Web had not opted to make this new adaptation a live action film.
– Urban Cinefile

Corny? Overly simplistic? Perhaps. But those were grown-ups snuffling and wiping away tears at a recent screening — not kids — as the story reaches its heart-tugging conclusion. And there’s no shame in that.
– Christy Lemire Associated Press

As of this moment Charlotte’s Web is holding a very solid 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and I don’t expect that number to shift much higher or lower. Looking forward to this one personally.
