Punisher Vs Jigsaw!

For those of you who love cross genre movies to the like of Freddy Vs Jason or Aliens Vs Predator, we take Marvel comic’s badass vigilantee with a penchant for firearms and we pit him agaist JIGSAW!!!

MovieHole quoted Jonathan Hensleigh, director of “The Punisher”:

“We’ve been planning one. We’ve been working on one for about two years”, says Hensleigh. “I think we’re going to do it. I think there’s a high likelihood that we’re going to do it. There are many issues involved in the sequel. One has been the timing between my schedule and Thomas Jane’s schedule. The major one has been the content of the script and we’ve been wrestling with script issues for two years now. In other words, normal Hollywood stuff. Once those script issues are resolved and I think they’re going to be resolved very quickly, I think we’re going to make another one.”

Hensleigh revealed that ‘Jigsaw’ will be the villain, and that the new film will be set in Manhattan.

Ok, now before you all get your panties in a bunch, this Jigsaw is not the same guy from the Saw Movies. No, Punisher will not be taking aim on the psycho killer, but instead he will face off against the Jigsaw from the comics. Jigsaw was a small time mobster and has no superhuman powers, but is a skilled street fighter, specializing in the use of various forms of guns and knives.

They may inflate the importance of the character to make him more of a mafia crimelord, but in the books he was more of a gangleader than anything else.

So, again, for those just catching on… Its the Marvel Villian mobster Jigsaw, not the Mind Game playing psychotic from Saw.
