Naomi Watts in Talks for The Birds Remake

They are remaking Alfred Hitchcock’s the Birds and the biggest news about it is that they are in talks with Naomi Watts to star.

Obsessed With Film says:

Well, the producer of Platinum Dunes who are the studio behind the remake confirmed that they have at the very least, held discussions with Watts over the movie….

“We’ve sat down with her and conceptually I think we all want to make the same movie, but until we have a script and a director, I think it’s a little premature. But, we’ll all talk and she’s who we’d like to have as the lead.”

Personally for me, I am not eager to see a remake of this movie, though the technology does exist that will make the birds threat a LOT scarier and a lot more populated. I would wager not one single real bird will be used in this movie.

But Naomi Watts to star? Hold on a second. The STAR of this movie will be the birds. Lets not forget King Kong (which I liked) where they made the mistake of making it more about the characters instead of Kong. The star of this movie will be the birds. It doesnt matter who else is in this movie with them.

I guess if you are going to have a bird eat someone’s eye, it might as well be a pretty one.
