The Producers Guild of America Announce Best Film Nominees

ProducersGuildThe Producers Guild of America has just announced their list of nominees for best picture. I’m sad to say they’ve added a couple of really overrated films to their list… but also have a couple of really good ones too. Their list of best picture nominees are:

BABEL By far the most overrated film of the year

DREAMGIRLS Seems like everyone convinced themselves this movie was amazing before they even saw it and bought into the hype. It is a GOOD movie, but dose not belong on this list at all

THE DEPARTED Hands down best film of the year

THE QUEEN No complaints from me

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE I’m happy (but surprised) to see this on the list.

Ok, there is no way in hell that Babel or Dreamgirls deserves to be on that list ahead of Borat. No way, no how. I’m a little uncertain of the qualifying rules of the Producers Guild so I won’t complain about the lack of Children of Men or Pan’s Labyrinth since for all I know they may be considered 2007 films to them.
