That’s right folks, the British do it best with the two winners for most positive reviews for a wide release movie being Casino Royale and for limited release being The Queen, done by a rottentomatoes.com pole of all the review. Here’s more about it from yahoo.com:
“Casino Royale” and “The Queen” were the two best-reviewed films of 2006, according to RottenTomatoes.com, which aggregates reviews online. The site, operated by Fox Interactive Media, said that “Casino” was the best-reviewed wide-release film of the year, scoring a positive rating of 95 percent.
“Queen” was hailed as best-reviewed limited-release film of the year, picking up a near-unanimous 98 percent rating
Well there have been a lot of fantastic movies this year and these two are definitely on the list for me. I’m happy to hear that they have come out on top, although I am a little surprised that Little Miss Sunshine isn’t up there as well (it is quite the little darling of the awards shows right now).
But still, all hail Bond and the nice old lady on our Canadian coins.
