2007 Annie Awards

The 2007 Annie Awards were handed out the other night and I was pretty pleased to see that Pixar’s “Cars” won for best film. I’m not really sure where all the criticism comes from for that movie. I just loved it. Yes, it was the weakest of the Pixar films thus far… but that’s like saying finding a million dollars in your pocket sucks compared to finding 2 million. It’s all good baby.

The other thing I was VERY pleased to see is that Flushed Away won the most awards of the night. Flushed Away in my opinion is probably the most under rated and least appreciated animated film over the last 3 years. This film was a great surprise for me and ended up being much more enjoyable that I expected.

Also on the pleasant surprise list for the Annie Awards was the snubbing of Happy Feet, which I was a little let down over… but that’s just me. I’m sure the producers aren’t crying too much though, they made like a bajillion bucks at the box office with it.
