Black Snake Moan is a hot one, on its topic and the delivery, but now for some reason they have put off it’s release date. The film is stars Samuel L. Jackson, Christina Ricci and Justin Timberlake. The good people over at moviesonline.ca give us more on the story:
Black Snake Moan just got bumped. No word on why but Paramount emailed to let us know that it has been bumped to March 2nd from Feb.
Here is the storyline on the film: There was a time when Lazarus played the blues ; a time he got Bojo’s Juke Joint shakin’ back in the day. Now he lives them. Bitter and broken from a cheating wife and a shattered marriage, Lazarus’ soul is lost in spent dreams and betrayal’s contempt… Until Rae. Half naked and beaten unconscious, Rae is left for dead on the side of the road when Lazarus discovers her. The God-fearing, middle-aged black man quickly learns that the young white woman he’s nursing back to health is none other than the town tramp from the small Tennessee town where they live.
Refusing to know her in the biblical sense, Lazarus decides to cure Rae of her wicked ways – and vent some unresolved male vengeance of his own. He chains her to his radiator, justifying his unorthodox methods with quoted scripture.
Ok I know this movie seems a bit…much but I just watched the trailer for it and DAMN! I want to see this movie, it looks so entertaining. Ricci has never looked hotter, and just from the trailer I can tell there are not only some decent acting going on but there are also some pretty funny moments in the film. Jackson is looking his crazy eyed best for his role as well.
Seriously I do not know why this movie is being pushed back, maybe do they have to edit out more of Timberlake’s performance to make it a better movie? Or perhaps it is that they are hoping for a stronger reception in March. Whatever the case I don’t care when they release it as long as I get to see it when it does come out. If it gets bad reviews or good I don’t care, I am seeing this film.
It is going to piss off a lot of people but believe me that is definitely some of the charm.
