The acclaimed director Francis Ford Coppola will produce and direct the new movie Tetro which Matt Dillon will be staring in. The good folks over at comingsoon.net give us more in the story:
Coppola will produce and direct Argentine family saga Tetro with Matt Dillon toplining, reports Variety. Coppola, who also wrote the screenplay, plans to begin filming in Buenos Aires late this year through his American Zoetrope production company. The story revolves around an artistic immigrant family marred by fierce rivalries, handed down through several generations.
This sounds like the right kind of film for not only Coppola but also Dillon. A South American tale of family life could be quite riveting at the hands of Coppola. I am often surprised that Matt Dillon is not more well cast, occasionally he is thrown gems and he always makes them shine more brighter, movies like Crash, Factotum, Malcom X and Singles have all benefited from his talent. But then we have You, Me and Dupree, Employee of the Month and One Night at McCools.
The guy is like an athlete who eats junk food, the crap he does in-between the gold is really terrible for him. With this film though he is going to have a good work out with a stellar coach in Coppola.
I hope to see a good run with this film.
