Chris Rock and David Spade are joining up for an untitled comedy that will be produced by Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions. Our friends over at comingsoon.net gives us the scoop:
Columbia Pictures has made a deal for an untitled comedy that will be written as a star vehicle for David Spade and Chris Rock, says Variety. Spade will write the script with Fred Wolf and Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison will produce. The movie is about a turf battle between three families who vie for the same camping spot in a public park over a weekend. Spade and Wolf previously co-wrote the films Joe Dirt and Dickie Roberts. They have been working together since the latter was head writer on “Saturday Night Live” and Spade was a cast member.
Rock and Spade are like fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, they are so bad for you but once in a while they sure do hit the spot. The storyline sounds a little simple, but when the story is small the characters are the focus and with Spade and Rock that isn’t a bad thing.
I’m excited about seeing a new film with these two rascals starring. It is very wise for them to team up because lately neither of then has had too much film success, television yes, film, no, not really. Maybe two wrongs will make a right.
Either way I can’t wait to see how this turf battle turns out.
