Ghost Rider hasn’t lived through its first weekend at the boxoffice, and talks are already in place for the sequel. But will Cage and Mendez reprise their roles?
Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes don’t seem to know anything about it – when both asked last week whether they have signed on for sequels she’d heard nothing about one, and wasn’t contracted to do one, whilst he wasn’t keen on even thinking about doing another one until he saw how the public takes to this one – but the studio sure seems to be convinced there’s a “Ghost Rider 2” in their future.
Someone might want to let them know that the studios are moving forward with this (or think they are) and saying they are involved.
I have yet to see Ghost Rider, so I dont even know if I should be excited about a potential sequel. From the trailers, it seemed that the effects were looking pretty hot. No I didnt mean that because the guy’s head is on fire! Ghost Rider himself looked damned cool. (2 unintentional puns and one statement of irony – not bad)
It just seems movies these days are being farted out faster than we can keep up with them. Don’t get me wrong, I would sooner see movies in a timely manner than waiting 3-4 years between sequels, but it seems no sooner does a movie break even at the BoxOffice and the studio is already trying to gear up for a sequel?
Is this affecting the quality of the movies? Or is it increasing the expectation and excitement? Or both?
