Hitman Movie Gets October 2007 Release Date

Whoa… talk about a fast turn around time.. too bloody fast. The movie incarnation of the Hitman video game is set to hit theaters October 12th… of THIS YEAR. That’s right boys and girls, just 8 months from now the Hitman movie will be in theaters. The word for today boys and girls is “RUSHED”. This can’t be good. Shock! Stun! Yet another video game movie that is destined to suck.

For a very long time Vin Diesel was attached to the project for the lead role, but as we reported last month, the role has now been passed to Timothy Olyphant, who I actually think could do a pretty decent job with the role if given a fair chance… but they don’t seem to be treating this project with much respect (but hey, it’s a video game movie… giving it all the respect in the world probably wouldn’t have made any difference).

Not clear on what Hitman is about? Our friends at MoviesOnline give us this:

According to IGN The Hitman movie is going to drop into theatres Oct 12th 2007 and wow am I surprised. There has been next to no word in recent months on this film and suddenly its gonna be in theatres in October? The movie will tell the story of the Hitman, aka Agent 47, who is the world’s most accomplished and wealthy assassin, working for a mysterious organization called the Agency. However, he is plagued by a troubling past of deception and genetic butchery.

Wow… 8 months. Well, let’s see.
