Australian bosom buddiesNicole Kidman and Naomi Watts have both signed on th star in Ryan Murphy’s (Nip/Tuck, Running with Scissors) new film Need. The good folks over at movieweb.com give us this one the story:
Murphy will stay on as showrunner for a fifth season of FX’s top-rated Nip/Tuck: The Complete Third Season; at the same time, he’ll exclusively develop series with 20th Century Fox – which includes a first-look deal with Fox Broadcasting…. Murphy is also firming plans to spend his hiatus directing Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts in the sexy thriller, Need. The two Aussie actresses will play archenemies; Watts will play a psychiatrist, Kidman the unstable patient who steals the shrink’s husband.
Two attractive Australian girls in a catfight? Hot, so very hot box office numbers, I can see them now.
Kidman, if you remember won an Oscar(for The Hours) the last time she acted crazy, this could be her next great movie role. As for Watts, the girl is going to have some friendly competition going with Kidman, Watts is also a fantastic actress and I just have to wonder which woman will be stealing the scenes in this movie. The premise looks great, a shrink of then steals the patient’s boyfriend/husband in movies but not so often is it the other way.
I am a huge fan of Murphy, love Running with Scissors, love Nip/Tuck, I think he deserves all the work he can handle, he is a very talented man.
Let’s hope he handles Need like the pro that he is.
