Narc star Ray Liotta was arrested on Sunday for suspected drinking and driving. The good people over at yahoo.com give us this on the arrest:
Actor Ray Liotta was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing his car into two parked vehicles in Pacific Palisades, authorities said. Liotta, 52, was taken into custody just before 8:30 p.m. Saturday and booked on a misdemeanor DUI charge, said Los Angeles Police spokesman Mike Lopez.
Liotta was released on $15,000 bail and will have to go to court next month. This is a shame, Liotta is a very good actor but apparently not the smartest man when it comes to his personal life. When you hit one parked car it is time to get out and go for a walk, you don’t wait until the second parked car gets hit!
Seriously Liotta is lucky that parked cars are all that he hit, he can recover from this bad publicity but it would be a whole different story if he had smashed into a moving car. Drinking and driving is a very bad problem all over and stars are definitely not immune. Liotta is a successful man, he should have called a cab, or whoever he was with that night should have taken his keys (you know the saying “friends don’t let…”).
True sometimes a person just has one extra glass of wine at dinner and don’t realize that they’ve gone over the edge but I think bashing 2 parked cars shows a bit more than one extra drink. There is no excuse for drinking and driving.
Liotta is very lucky he’s getting off so lightly.
