Lionsgate Entertainment has snatched up the new thriller The Bank Job aka Baker Street by Roger Donaldson starring Jason Statham and Saffron Burrows. The good people over at movieweb.com tell us more:
Lionsgate picked up the rights to Roger Donaldson’s sexy thriller, The Bank Job. The film stars Jason Statham and Saffron Burrows, and is based on an unsolved daring robbery that took place in London in 1971, notes The Hollywood Reporter. The Bank Job is currently in production in the U.K.; shooting is due to end in March.
This sounds a little standard to me. I am tired of bank heist movies, and even the dashing Jason Statham cannot get me excited about this one. Of course it could end up looking really good and then I’ll probably change my mind but for now I feel a yawn coming on.
