There is a new movie coming out called The Hoax staring Richard Gere and man it looks good. The kind people over at moviesonline.ca gave us the heads up on it. Here’s the plot:
Inspired by true events in the life of Clifford Irving, the writer who nearly pulled off one of the most audacious media scams in history, when his “autobiography” of Howard Hughes was published. Richard Gere stars as Irving, who claimed the book was based on in person interviews with the reclusive billionaire, which were in fact completely bogus
. I have been disappointed with Gere a lot lately but in the first 15 seconds of this trailer I saw a more interesting character than I’ve seen out of Gere in years, he is what caught my attention, but then there is the plot and the supporting cast. This is probably the first movie of 2007 that has gotten me excited. There is a Catch me if You Can and a Confessions of a Dangerous Mind element that is working well at getting me good and excited. The supporting cast includes Alfred Molina, Marcia Gay Harden and Hope Davis and the trailer alone shows just enough character out of all of them for me to want to see more.
