Well, the first Underdog trailer, just a teaser, has hit the web. You know, it’s funny how a trailer can manipulate us. Up until now I had less than ZERO interest in seeing Underdog at all. I thought it was a stupid idea… and to some degree I still think it’s stupid. But I just watched the trailer… and ya know what… damn it…. shit I can’t believe I’m going to say this… I think I might actually be curious about this film now.
The tide changing element for me is the voice of Jason Lee as Underdog. Actually hearing his voice coming out of that damn dog actually gave a whole different stroke to the character that suddenly made me interested. I can’t really explain why… but it did. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Lee has the greatest animation voice in the world at all… but chemistry of that character with that voice just seemed to work for me. But who knows… it’s still really early.
