Ledger or Craig for the Devil

In joyous celebrations everywhere, highschool students rejoice at yet another literary classic they are endured to read is converted into a film! Paradise Lost has been picked up as a major project destined to cause lazy students to fail book reports on the subject everywhere!

JoBlo.com says:

Scott Derrickson (THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE) is directing the film with Legendary Pictures (300, SUPERMAN RETURNS) financing the project at over $100 million. The New York Times did a feature on the project this weekend where producers mentioned they’re talking to both Heath Ledger and Daniel Craig to star as Lucifer, the angel who attempted to rebel in heaven and was banished to hell.

Granted this book was not on the curriculum in my school board, so I was never exposed to this novel. I am aware of it, and like any good story it deserves to have Hollywood make a movie out of it.

As for Craig of Ledger being considered for the role of the Devil, I don’t know which I would sooner see. Ledger’s smile and edginess made him a good choice for the Joker (I always figured he had a twisted side with that smile and that bit unhinged look in his eye) but we know Craig can play badass evil.

I am not talking about Craig’s Bond portrayal. For a real side of cold evil and mad crazy superiority, check out Craig in his role as a Hitler Youth in one of my favourite movies of all time. Power of One. Combine that with his commanding presence and charm, and he might make an awesome Lucifer.

Which would you sooner see as the devil?
