M. Night Shyamalan Directs The Happening

Looks like the Sham Hammer is back. After his worst film yet (the wretchedly awful “Lady In The Water” which also won this year’s Razzie Award for the worst picture of the year), M. Night Shyamalan is getting back on the horse and coming at us with “The Happening”. The good folks over at Movieweb give us the following:

The film will mark Shyamalan’s first R-rated movie; it’s a paranoid thriller about a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity. Variety adds the pic is expected to carry a budget of around $57 million, and Shyamalan told Daily Variety he expects to cast a big male star for the lead.

Ok look, as much of a jackass I think ShamHammer has become, and as horrible as Lady in the Water was, I STILL think this guy is an uber talented director who has the potential to give us some great films if he’ll just get his head out of his own ass for a while. This sounds like the type of project he should do, and even though this might shock some of you… I’m excited to see what he does with it. It would be nice to see the man return to form after 2 bad movies in a row.
