Nolan & Spielberg on Interstellar

The Nolans are quickly becoming something of a Brothers duo, but yet to really write on a movie together. So it seems Brother Johan Nolan is working with Spielberg to create Interstellar.

Movie Hole says:

Jonah Nolan – Chris’s brother and the writer of “The Dark Knight” – and Steven Spielberg – he’s the guy with the beard that did the alien movie with the bikes – are teaming for “Interstellar,” a space adventure that’s set up over at Paramount.

Nolan’s penning the screenplay for Spielberg to direct.

According to Variety, a scientific theory by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist and expert on relativity informed the plot. His theory that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel intrigued Spielberg, who attended a Caltech workshop on the subject with Thorne and other scientists.

I really like science fiction that is based on real theories. I would be interesting to see if any sci-fi movies that come from this actually reflect into history, but that’s why its still a theory. Wouldn’t it be cool if they proved the theory and the scientists can all sit around 30 years from now and laugh about how Spielberg and Nolan got it wrong? But then if they were right, it would open the door for time travel and they could come back and tell Nolan how to write the movie… ok I am giving myself a headache.

The article goes on to read that this movie wont come until after Spielberg is done with Indiana Jones 4, so we will just have to see about that.

It also mentions that Spielberg will follow this with an Abraham Lincoln movie with hopes for Liam Neeson as Abe.
