Wolverine Villian Rumours – Sabretooth and Juggernaught

I really like the idea of Wolverine getting his own movie. A lot of people complained that the XMen films focused too much on that character and everything seemed to revolve around Wolverine, so to give him the spotlight not only puts the focus where it should be (on the title character) and makes room for another XMen movie to introduce some of the other characters in the XHistory.

It makes sense that a stand alone Wolverine movie would feature Sabretooth as the villain, but who would play Sabretooth was the real question. Tyler Mane played him in the first movie.

Comicbook Movie says:

Mane said: “We will see. There is talk of a Wolverine-Sabretooth [plot], and we will see what happens with that.”

Vinnie Jones has also piped up saying the Juggernaut should be Wolverine’s wupping-boy of choice.

For fans hoping that the movie stays true to the comic series, sending Logan on a quest fueled by revenge against Victor Creed, Mane leaves us with his thoughts: “We will see. You never know.”

Now I thought Mane did a great job being Sabretooth in the first XMen film. I had a couple of friends that did some extras work in the movie in the train station scene. Of course for the role they used for Sabretooth, I really don’t think Mane had to do much but growl and look intimidating.

In a movie where he will play the primary opposition, they will need someone deeper than a pro wrestler. I think Mane dancing around the idea is just optimism. And a side dish of desperation. There is no way they will get him to play Creed.

Then add Vinnie Jones saying Juggernaught should be Wolverine’s enemy? That would be the dumbest movie ever. Wolverine cant hurt Juggernaught. He might as well be fighting Mount Rushmore. At least the rock he could cut up.

I vote yes for Sabretooth, but no to Mane.

Vinnie, you played a great Juggernaught, but dream on.
