A remake of Clash Of the Titans is in the works. We get the scoop and synopsis from moviehole:
George Lucas’s go-to guy Lawrence Kasdan – he penned “Empire Strikes Back”, “Return of the Jedi” and “Raiders of the Lost Ark” – has been tapped to rework an old Harry Hamlin movie (Clash Of The Titans).
The story revolves around Zeus’ son, Perseus, and his journey to save Princess Andromeda during which he must complete various tasks set out by Zeus, including capturing Pegasus and slaying Medusa. The original marked the final film on which Ray Harryhausen did special effects.
I saw this film as a youngster, and although a bit foggy I remember enjoying it. The special effects of today are able to take this to another level; and although skeptical of remakes – this one I would like to see. I am also pumped about Kasdan’s involvement – his work with Lucas has resulted in legendary films and I hope he will bring that magic to this sword and sorcery epic!
The monsters and creatures of myth are always a delight for me to see on the silver screen. Pegasus, Unicorns, Mermaids and Medusa these are players from childhood fables and when I see them on the silver I am left with a feeling of childlike wonder. This is why I love the movies, the world of our imagination is put on display for all to see.
