Rumors have been swirling around the internet for some time that their would be a Jurassic Park 4. Today thanks to confirmation in an interview with Laura Dern, it appears that it is a go. We get the following interview excerpt and story from collider:
While talking to Laura Dern earlier this afternoon, she revealed that she had received a phone call from Steven Spielberg and something is brewing.
Laura Dern: I’m told its happening and I’m told they’re calling me. I’m told that Ellie Sattler is involved in it.
Are you interested in going back?
Well a certain fellow is the one that called me and it’s hard to say no to him cause he’s always got something totally genius up his sleeve so we’ll see what they have in mind. But I don’t know anything about it at this point.
Has anyone told you when it would shoot?
I think within the year. I think they want to release it in 2008.
So friends it looks like after the year of the giant robots we will have the year of the giant lizards once again. I have to admit, that although I am sick of so many sequels – I am always interested in seeing dinosaurs any way I can get them. I love dinosaurs and wish we had 3 dinosaur movies per annum. I don’t care if it is man in suit in Godzilla – give me Dinosaurs wrecking shit.
It will also be interesting to see how superior the effects are from this movie to the previous three. Jurassic park has always had astonishing effects for the time it was made; I wonder if this film will follow suit and continue to break visual barriers.
Now all we need is Dinobots.
