Fresh off the viking longboat of dissapointment, Karl Urban has been cast in a new film “on the Run” it is being directed by John McTiernan (of DIE HARD and HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER fame). We get the plot synopsis and news from MoviesOnline
Karl Urban is on the Run in a new thriller. In Argentina when a suspect runs from maverick American Interpol agent Tucker (Karl Urban – BOURNE SUPREMACY, PATHFINDER), he triggers an epic, tire melting, nitro injected pursuit across the country leaving a trail of destruction in its’ wake. Investigating from behind the wheel, Tucker stumbles on an inside conspiracy to rip off the pension fund of the entire Argentine police force and discovers the suspect may not be as guilty as he seems, and the real suspect may be as close as his own partner sitting right beside him.
Karl goes from a movie with alot of walking (Pathfinder) to a movie with alot of running. Running is more exciting than walking, and we will see if the fast paced foot travel will add the neccessary excitement to a story that revolves about stolen pension money. Hell hath no fury like a scorned pensioner!
I shouldn’t hold Urban responsible for Pathfinder – but I do. I hold everyone in that movie responsible for letting me down. It is childish, it is wrong, and I am at peace with that. I hope Urban has selected a better film this time around. He has hype coming off Lord Of The Rings and I would hate to see him lose it by doing a few shit movies in a row. I could be nervous about nothing though; this may be the best movie about pension fraud ever made.
This could be the Citezen Kane of pension fraud films. Who knows, a new film genre may be bubbling into existance as I type. This could be the historical tipping point that starts the dramatic “pension fraud” genre!
