Thanks to Thom who sent me the heads up on this. There is a new Transformers TV spot out now… and this one shows Optimus Prime talking with his face shield opened up revealing a mouth. I had 2 reactions:
1) When I heard they were going to show Optimus with a mouth, I hated the idea.
but then…
2) Seeing it in action… I don’t mind it. Giving Prime a face some of the time give the animators more to work with in bringing a performance out of the character. Having his classic face guard closed most of the time gives them the best of both worlds in my opnion. But it’s certainly open for debate. Take a look below:
