Return to the House on Haunted Hill

From the files of sequels you didnt ask for, I trip over news that Return to the House on Haunted Hill is reporting post production is done. A movie I didn’t even know they were making.

MovieWeb reports

PrimEdge, Inc. announced that its subsidiary, Orangebox Entertainment has finished post production for the upcoming theatrical release, Return to the House on Haunted Hill, from Dark Castle Entertainment. The film is due to be released in September 2007 and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Now how did this slip by me?

After further investigation I see the cast is filled with relative unknowns, OC eyecandy Amanda Righetti, a former Yellow Power Ranger, and one of the 300. So it sounds like direct to dvd to me, but apparently this will get a theatrical release.

Now before it sounds like I think this is a bad idea, let it be known that I pretty much liked the remake of House on Haunted Hill, even if it was painfully obvious that they tried to make Geoffrey Rush look like Vincent Price (from the original). It wasn’t my favourite horror, or even in my top ten, but I didn’t hate it.

I am a little surprised that they make a sequel, but I honestly shouldn’t be. I will reserve judgment until I see this.
