Ladies and gentlemen, in these troubled times children are calling out for heroes. One man has heard the the distraught, role model deprived voices of millions in the winds, and will be returning to the silver screen to give us hope anew; his name is Steven Segal. We get the glorious news from moviehole:
The actor – still apparently mulling over a possible “Under Siege 3” – is set to star in “Marker”, set to lens in Southern Connecticut next month.
Bounced off the force eight years ago for being a “dirty” cop, Matt Conlan has divorced his wife and all but ruined his relationship with his 11 years old daughter with his drinking and his mounting gambling debts. When a mysterious Old Man offers Matt the opportunity to discharge the debts and make $100,000 in the process in exchange for performing three hits, Matt finds himself questioning his life’s path and finds an unexpected ally in the Old Man’s henchman, the stone killer Blue and a woman he meets in a bar, Drea. When Matt learns the identity of his last hit and finds his whole world turned upside down, he’s forced to decide whose side he’s playing on.
Just recently I was on the FILMJUNK vidcast VS where we discussed the majesty of Segal. This year has been chock full of manly macho movies, and the world has been gobbling it up. As a people we were down a quote of macho and I think the time is right for Segal to return and remind us why we love him. This plot synopsis is classic Segal and sounds like it could be a Segalicious celebration of martial arts moral instruction though violence.
