The sequel factory keeps on chugging. People like cars, people like action and it looks like because of all this we are going to be treated to another installment of The Fast And The Furious. We get the story from our friends at Moviehole:
Chris Morgan has been to write the fourth installment of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morgan did such a knock-up job on last summer’s “Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” that Universal asked him back to pen sequel number three.
Recent rumours suggested that “The Fast and the Furious 4” might be headed direct-to-DVD, but this new substantiation – specifically the bit in the item that states that “Tokyo Drift” made a pleasing $158 million worldwide – would suggest otherwise. Don’t be surprised if they try and get Vin Diesel back – something they’ve discussed quite a few times – and make it a big monster tent pole teste-tickler.
I am not a fan of this franchise, but I enjoyed the third installment more than I thought I would. Perhaps it had something to do with all the sluts dressed as schoolgirls, who knows. I will say that it seems strange to continue on after the third – I thought the end was a good a wrap up as you could of hoped for with this franchise. I would prefer them just to make more car films with a different set of characters. I personally don’t think the name “The Fast And The Furious” is that strong a draw, although I very well could be wrong.
I think they should make a 50’s style drag race movie – they are kickass.
