I came across a blog entry on
The Bayster talks about possibly releasing the film a day earlier and asks us all for our feedback and public will to increase chances of studio co-operation. Bay also gives us the following blurb:
Hey, I want to thank everyone for the kind words on the trailer. I’m so used to seeing robots I kind of got bored with the trailer. I forget you have not seen them. When they put the piece together I kept wanting to show our truly awesome shots – but we didn’t. I can without a doubt, say we have just teased you on this trailer. We have so many huge shots that will never be in our ads. I bet this will be one of the rare trailers that does not show you the true money shots of the movie.
I do not know if this is all true or just Bay playing good cop, bad cop with the studio. I will admit that the trailers have been really quite amazing with the action sequences that they have been dishing out. If these scenes are the “throw aways” then I think it is safe to say that this film may be a visual assault like no movie before it.
If the best is yet to come I will side with the studio on this one. I do not want to see the best shit in the trailer, I want to see it on the silver screen. I can imagine Bay is bustling to burst forth his baby but some things are worth waiting for. This is encouraging news however and it is pretty considerate and cool of Bay to update his blog for us to get the saucy scoop straight from the horse’s maw.
