It looks like Sacha Baron Cohen has begun filming his next project featuring the Bruno character. We get the fresh news from cinematical:
Is there any town in this country where its citizens are so out-of-touch and self-absorbed that they won’t recognize the comedic actor in uniform performing his usual shtick? Well, it seems there is such a place — Los Angeles. La La Land. Defamer reports (via a spy) that Cohen (as Bruno) and his ten-person crew were spotted at the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles attending a luncheon hosted by the Foreign Trade Association. Yup, it appears Bruno is officially underway.
I am not very excited about posting this news, I will not lie to you. It will continue to get more difficult for Cohen to do his reactionary comedy when people are aware of who he is. But news is news, and it is my job to divulge the news to my international friends… and the good news is that the film is underway.
I am a fan of Cohen, enjoy all his characters, and I anxiously await the Bruno movie. Cohen portrays characters that bring about discrimination upon themselves in order to expose the underlying feelings of intolerance. By bringing intolerance out in the open we may mock it, deal with it and hopefully grow in both understanding and tolerance.
