Nicole Kidman is quite possibly the most attractive female lead EVER in a movie. Yeah I have my list of eyecandy crushes in movies, but seriously, short of a prosthetic nose to make her look less appealing, this girl CAN’T be unnattractive. Even covered in dirt, shes a looker.
The Oscar-winning beauty, 39, plays an upper-crust English aristocrat who heads Down Under just before World War II to confront her skirt-chasing husband – only to find him dead.
This leaves her in control of a massive Northern Territory cattle station the size of Belgium.
Kidman joins a massive cast of top Aussie talent with Hugh Jackman, David Wenham, Bryan Brown, Jack Thompson, John Jarratt, David Gulpilil and Bill Hunter all hand-picked by Luhrmann.
I find it most interesting that Kidman is an Australian herself, and is playing a Brit. Not a stretch considering her mastery of foreign accents.
In interviews I am repeatedly caught off guard that Nicole has a down under accent (admitedly not a strong one) but she can do all sorts with stunning ease.
But her list of co-stars that are all from Australia will make it that much more believable. And I do have a weak spot for period movies, and despite this being a pre-WW2 era movie, it still looks like it will have a lot of Wild West flavour to it, which Australia has a rich history for paralelling the traditonal cowboy storys in the American Frontier.
All in all, I am looking forward to this for more reasons than Kidman’s involvement.
