Is Anyone Going To See Georgia Rule?

Georgia-Rule-PosterThere are some movies that get released in the Summer Blockbuster season that make sense. 28 Weeks Later is going to have its own built in audience and can survive on an “off week” in the summer and make some cash. But a film like “Georgia Rule“???

This week the new film “Georgia Rule” opens ups. My question is simple… is ANYONE going to see this? Not only is Spider-Man 3 just entering its second week (I hope it’s out of theaters soon), but Shrek 3 is coming next week. Add on top of that the trailer looks boring as hell… and it’s got Lindsay Lohan in it… who hasn’t been able to draw an adult audience at all so far. (As a side note… remember last year when a producer was publicly scolding Lohan for her bad attitude and poor work ethic? That was about Georgia Rule).

Yahoo describes the movie like this:

Screenwriter Andrus (“As Good as It Gets”) drew upon his Mormon upbringing to tell the story of Rachel, a trouble-making California teen (guess who?) who is sent to a small town in Idaho by her alcoholic mother, Lilly (Huffman), to live with her strict, rule-enforcing grandmother, Georgia (Fonda).

Yeah… sounds like something I’m rushing out to see in the summer. But seriously folks… I’m curisous… are you at all interested in seeing this movie?
