Harry Potter creator JK Rowling is among the richest women in the world effectively placing her worth near a BILLION US dollars. It is common knowledge that her 7th Harry Potter Book due out this summer is to be the final chapter of the series. And despite the fans drooling for more, she says is done.
But wait! There is an 8th book coming??? 24Dash.com reports:
The seventh novel, ‘The Deathly Hollows’, due out in the summer, will bring the young wizard’s adventures to an end, but Rowling has said she might write an eighth for charity.
The 41-year-old writer wrote on her website: “I might do an eighth book for charity – a kind of encyclopedia of the world, so that I could use all the extra material that’s not in the books.”
Well how is that for respectable?
She could fart these out in her sleep by now and cash in more money than the Vatican. She doesn’t need the money, and she could give some of hers away (which she admirably does anyways) but this way the fans get another taste of more Harry Potter stuff, and some charity gets permission to print money. I say good on her!
But really this isn’t an 8th book at all is it? She already has two books that were mentioned in the movies that she has created into sourcebooks of a kind for Potter fans. ‘Quidditch Through The Ages’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ are both in movie textbooks that you can also own. So this next book is just more background source material.
I would honestly like to see a prequel telling the whole story of Tom Riddle’s rise and the tale of James and Lily. They delve into it quite a bit in flashback mode in The HalfBlood Prince. But I would like to see that whole story fleshed out.
Well when she runs out of money, or Haley’s Comet comes by again, she might actually write that story.
