This is my favorite news of the day. It looks like John Malcovich will be in a Cohen Brothers film! We get the news from the caves of Yahoo:
John Malkovich is in negotiations to star opposite George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand in the Coen brothers’ dark screwball comedy “Burn After Reading.”
Malkovich would play Ozzie Cox, a former CIA agent who loses the disc of the memoir he is writing. McDormand will play Cox’s philandering wife. Clooney is set to play an assassin. Because the screenplay is being kept under wraps, it is unclear what Pitt’s character will be. Shooting is scheduled to begin in August.
This is huge. Pitt, Clooney, and Malcovich together in a Cohen brothers movie makes this easily one of my most anticipated films in recent history. I love all these actors and cannot wait to see the interaction between them.
I am excited that it is slated to be a dark comedy (my favorite kind) and the players they have on board would be more than able to pull it off. This is my most anticipated movie of 2008, and I will be hunting for as much info as I can get. I love the Cohen Brothers and I feel they have the pieces here to make another “Lebowski level” iconic picture.
